Yes. While some people may like the look of their tooth gap,  it may cause low self-confidence for others. Gaps between  teeth may be anywhere in the mouth, but are usually the  most noticeable when they occur on the upper front teeth.  Spacing looks different for everyone. Sometimes we can. Crossbite is a Bite problem when your  top and bottom teeth don’t meet for a perfect bite. This can  cause serious health problems. Underbite is a form of  malocclusion where your lower teeth extend further out than  your top teeth. This can cause severe tooth and jaw  problems. An overbite is a common problem where the  upper teeth overlap the lower teeth. If ignored, an Overbite can cause serious health problems. StarSmiles can correct alignment issues including spacing,  crowding, overbite, underbite, and cross bite, based on the  discretion our expert dentist and orthodontist team.  Complete your free StarSmiles assessment and book in a scan. Our expert team of dentists and orthodontists will use your scan to design your future smile using our state of the art 3D Artificial Intelligence software to create a  roadmap of your journey to the smile you deserve. The steady and gentle movement of your teeth is planned from  the beginning to the end of your journey. Our team will  custom manufacture 3 aligners for each month of your  journey, which will apply just the right amount of force on  your teeth for you to reach the goal of your StarSmile  effectively, yet smoothly and gently. Aligners one and two  should be worn as instructed during weeks 1 and 2,  respectively. Aligner three should be worn during weeks 3  and 4. If aligners are worn for 22 hours per day, removed for  eating and drinking, and regularly cleaned, they will guide  you on your journey to a StarSmile.

We treat ages 14 and above as long as we confirm that all of your adult teeth have grown in. Anyone below the age of 18 will need parental consent.

You should wait twelve weeks after having your wisdom teeth removed to start StarSmiles treatment. If you want to start sooner, we would need a signed release form from your dentist.

In most cases, customers can proceed with StarSmiles  aligners with presence of wisdom teeth. Customers should  consult a dentist or orthodontist to determine need and  timing of wisdom tooth removal.

Possibly.  After  evaluating your scan we will let you  know to what extent our treatment can help you. It could be perfectly safe, but its possible that your  pregnancy may cause your teeth to shift, which would mean  you may need to have a new scan and  aligner system. We recommend you wait until you are not  pregnant to use our system.

ORDERING

If you receive a damaged product please complete a support  request form and we will replace the product promptly. For the safety of all our customers we do not approve of any  refunds, exchanges, or returns of customised aligners or  retainers, and possibly some other products at discretion.

Our scans are completed by trained professionals, however, if our team evaluates your scan and feels like we need a new one, we’ll get in touch with you and work out booking you in for a scan.

About 4-6 weeks. Also be sure to be attentive for requests of  photographs. This will help us perfect your aligners more  quickly.

Once in a while we may request some photos of your teeth from you. These photos let us know how your teeth are progressing. All you need to do is send us the photographs based on the instructions we provide in our request communication to you.

EVALUATION

After the scan, you will receive a personalised treatment plan within 3-5 days. Once you have accepted the treatment plan, you’ll receive your customised invisible aligners within 4-6 weeks.

TREATMENT

Your custom treatment plan will be sent to you via an email before your aligners are made. You can refer back to this email, or request Star Smiles for your treatment plan at any time.

While you wait for your retainers, continue to wear your  aligners. Once the retainers arrive, we’ll ask you to wear  them for six whole weeks, 22 hours a day. After this you can start wearing them only at night for 8 hours. Replace your retainers once a year to retain your StarSmiles Guarantee for life. Wash your retainers and keep them clean, as they are vulnerable to regular wear and tear.

You must purchase invisible aligner retainers from  StarSmiles 14 days before the end of your treatment. You  must confirm, in writing, that you have used your retainers  as instructed and/or after the end of your treatment you must  have bonded retainers placed and provide proof of retainer  placement as well as proof of annual checks by a registered  dentist or orthodontist. You must confirm, in writing, that you  have used your retainers as instructed.

No. Your aligners are custom designed to take you on a  journey of very gradual teeth shifting that is optimised to a  safe and comfortable pace. If your aligners don’t fit properly  reach out to our support team on 0808 175 3083 and we can evaluate how to  best assist you.

Yes, unless you are vomiting or severely sick you can keep  using them as instructed. If you do vomit with your aligners on, don’t worry. Just clean them right away with warm water.

You don’t need fancy tools to clean your aligners. First and  foremost, it’s key to rinse your aligners under warm water when you take them out. This prevents residue build up, and cloudy or discolored aligners. Cleaning your aligners is easy. Make sure you’re rinsing them in warm water to prevent bacteria build up or discoloration of the aligners. If possible, you can mix half a part of water and half a part of vinegar together and soak your aligners in  the solution. Rinse them off before rewearing them. Don’t use a toothbrush or toothpaste on your aligners since they can cause  scratching and bacteria attraction. Aligner cleaning is additional to daily dental hygiene.

It can vary, but the average treatment plan is 4-7 months for mild to moderate cases.

Yes. We’ll supply you with 3D digital visual animation of your smile 3-5 days after your scan has been completed. We create your smile using state of the art 3D Artificial Intelligence software.

Don’t worry. Just contact us so we can order a replacement. While you’re waiting for your replacement aligner, please wear the previous one so you don’t lose your progress.

No. StarSmiles aligners do not move the molars. Molars are very difficult to move without traditional braces, rubber bands etc., but we may be able to shift your premolars.

Your aligners should be worn 22 hours per day. Take them out to eat, drink, and brush your teeth. Other than that, it’s best to leave them in.

Unless we approved an upper or lower individual treatment, we usually recommend you wear both the upper and lower aligners in our treatment plan.

We don’t recommend you smoke while wearing your aligners as smoking can cause discoloration to your aligners and your teeth.

While wearing the aligners, we ask that you do not drink any beverages except for still water. This does include drinking through a straw.

Don’t throw your aligners away. Make sure you preserve all your aligners in the protective sleeve we provide until your treatment plan has finished and you have received your retainers. We require you to do this just in case we direct you to go back to a previous aligner in the case of any issues during your treatment or if you misplace or break your aligner.

During the course of your treatment, StarSmiles strongly advises against any dental work. Dental procedures can alter the shape of your teeth, causing the aligners not to fit. Please inform us if you have any required or elective dental procedures coming up. If you participate in an elective dental procedure, your StarSmiles Guarantee may be void.

By the end of each aligner set, if your teeth and the aligners are fitting without air gaps, you’re doing great. If at the end of the set you detect a mismatch between the aligners and your teeth let our support team know with photos of your teeth with and without the aligners on and we’ll get back to you with a solution.
